WELCOME ! I've never been a JW () , so I've always had total freedom in searching for real "truth". Hang with the board.... it will open your eyes. For me, there is a loving Creator and life DOES have a purpose..... it's a journey of discovery - a VERY interesting "ride".

(i guess i'm posting the following blog i came across because i spent plenty of time in the past holding contempt for the caricature of a human that was tammy faye baker.
i like being shown another pov.
i also like being surprised by christians... it's such a rare occurance).
But what really set me straight about Tammy-Faye’s true Christian spirit was her response to a viewer on a call-in show. The caller was perplexed as to how to deal with her gay son, who she was about to disown due to his sinful lifestyle. Tammy-Faye’s answer: “I can’t think of a single sin that Jesus would find harder to forgive than a parent who chooses not to love and support their own child.”
That speaks volumns about her character.... God speed Tammy... would that we would all be so non-judgemental.

I don't believe those "guys" were mormons, but fakes. The major clue is the date that this happened - July 4th - a Major holiday for Mormons who some consider over-the-top patriotic. I checked with my momon friends and was told that the missonaries don't "work" on the 4th - but rather attend congragation functions like the Boy Scout flag raising ceremony/pancake breakfast, picnics, parades, etc. - in other words, it's a "holiday" from their missonary work.
i've met some wonderful friends here at this forum, but it's time for me to put the jw religion to rest.
it will be 15 years this october that i daed myself which in retrospect i wish i wouldn't have done as there are some former sisters who i would love to give a big hug and talk with who are in pain mentally, but i can't.
i agreed to their "rules" when i was baptized.

my grandpa died sunday afternoon.i was there in the room with him.i had to watch as he struggled to take his last breaths.it was horrific to watch.this was the second time i have watched someone in my family die.he died of prostate cancer.it was a long and painful death.i'm glad he's not in pain anymore.. at the moment i'm feeling a little emotional and upset about what i saw and all of the jw bs i had to listen too.i'm also dreading the jw memorial which is next weekend.i am planning on going.i'm da ed so i don't expect anyone to come up and talk to me or express there sorrow to me.the thing is i feel like i should be comferted and people should tell me they are sorry i lost my grandfather.i lost someone who i had alot of respect for all of my life regaurdless of how close we were after i da ed.i think i'm going to be excluded at the dinner after.they are planning a reception type thing for after the service.
i'm glad i did get the chance to see him and talk to him before he got really sick.i had the chance to go to dinner with him and my parents and a couple of my aunts a few months ago.when he was leaveing he asked me pointedly for a hug.he said he was collecting them.i hugged him and said i loved him.that was the last time i saw him till i went to my aunts house where he was staying just before he went into hospice.the next time i saw him was 3 weeks ago when he entered hospice and wasn't expected to live the night out.then i saw him sunday i arrived about 20 to 30 minutes before he took his last breath.he was creamated this week and will be buried with my other family in our family plots soon.. anyway i'm just in need of some kind words of support at the moment.i though that jwd would give that to me even though i don't post here that much.it really sucks to feel alone at times like this..
Noni, I'm sorry to hear about the passing of your Grandpa. I've never been a dub and I have a strong belief that death is but a doorway and your Grandpa now "knows it all". If you don't get any conforting from your family...go to somewhere in nature... a lake, stream, park, whatever and have your own special 'service' for your Grandpa by thinking of all the wonderful memories that you have. Take care.... life is eternal.

( a day ago) - so a couple of witnesses were talking and i heard one mention that he was on the "security" group of dubs for his convention.
they all had to meet early to discuss the barrage of "evil slave" class coming in and handing out cards with apostate information and also to watchover the restrooms, cause the "evil slave" likes to put flyers and stuff in there as well.
there was mentioning of how they would handle those ones.... just a note of encouragement, i guess, but it seems as if you ex-dubs that try and release the other actives, definitely are having an impact in some ways.. .
The assembly cops have been on the job for years. They busted me over 30 years ago for using a vending machine to buy Rainbow Lifesavers for my 3 year old son.
What the Hay! You've GOT to be kidding... (I've never been a dub, and after being on this board for 5 years, I thought I heard everything). Did they object to you "buying" on Sunday, or was it just because they were RAINBOW (sounds pagan) lifesavers? Scheeeesch
